Description
The Poplar is an entry-level mobile router by WiFiRanger. The indoor router has 2.4GHz WiFi reception and broadcast but does not support 5.8GHz WiFi (supported by Spruce and Aspen). The router has 100Mbps LAN ports for connecting hardwired computers and devices (Gigabit LAN on Spruce and Aspen). A USB 2.0 port is included for tethering Cellular hotspots and aircards (supported list shown here). Furthermore, you have the option to purchase an integrated LTE modem for the Poplar. This modem allows you to connect to Cellular internet, sharing data with all computers and devices connected to the WiFiRanger Poplar (requires data plan for Cellular internet – supported data plans shown here). The Poplar is ideal for those with a mobile lifestyle who desire affordability and versatility.

Unit worked great. Wanted to use for remote operation to equipment in the field. Unfortunately, WiFi Ranger went out of stock and forced me to buy (10) units with another company. I use the unit I bought from WiFi Ranger for Internet service in the warehouse now.

So far so good…..we are able to get reliable internet now, when before we couldn’t. We haven’t been traveling on the road yet, but are optimistic if it works at our friends place it will work outside a Walmart or McDonald’s.
