Getting your Ranger auto-connect is quite simple, but this is a feature that is normally hidden when you operate the Ranger in “standard mode”. Rangers are shipped with advanced features hidden because many customers will not have a need for them.
The first step is to “unhide” the advanced features. This is done from the setup tab of the Ranger’s control panel as indicated in the following screenshot:
Check the OFF box to “unhide” advanced features. Be sure to SAVE your changes using the save button before proceeding.
Once you have saved your change you when you return to the same section of the Setup tab it will now contain a few new options. One of those is Initial Autoconnect as shown in the following screenshot:
Select “ON” to turn on Autoconnect and SAVE you change. The next time you power up your Ranger it will automatically seek to find an internet connection. By properly setting tags on available connections
you can “guide” the Ranger to the one you would like it to automatically connect to. Don’t overlook the fact that you can set “Ignore” tags as well as “prefer” ones. Also, if there are passwords entered in memory for WiFi networks you would prefer it not connect to, go to the WiFi tab and remove them to ensure that it doesn’t try to connect to those.
