Knowledge Base - Setting DNS Statically (resolves inability to browse when online)

In some cases, the WiFiRanger will be connected to a network and indicate that it is ONLINE, but you will still be unable to browse to any websites. This is most commonly due to a DNS issue with the WiFi network that the WiFiRanger is connected to. To resolve the problem, change DNS on the Advanced tab of the WiFiRanger (requires Hide Advanced Features to be turned Off on Setup tab).

If DNS was set to Auto, change it to Static and we recommend using Google's reliable DNS servers as follows:

Nameserver 1:

Nameserver 2:

In some cases, this DNS issue may happen even when DNS is static on the WiFiRanger. When this happens, simply change DNS from Static to Auto on the Advanced tab of the WiFiRanger Control Panel.

Now click Save Changes at the bottom of the Advanced tab then Reconnect to the desired WiFi Network on the Main tab. Browsing the web should now work.
