I find it unnecessary for the Ranger to conduct a speed test every time I make a new internet connection. Can I turn off this feature?

If you prefer not to have the Ranger automatically do a speed test of every new connection, this can easily be turned off. Simply go to the "Setup" tab of the control panel and select the settings “gear” on the right side of the connection line for which you would like to change the speed test set, as shown in the following screenshot:

When one of the gear icons is clicked on, that line will expand as shown in the next screen shot. In this example, the Internal WiFi WAN 2 GHz line was selected. One of the newly expanded lines is a drop-down labeled Speed Test. The default setting for the drop-down is Automatic. Other choices include OFF and specific limits for the size of the test data black used for speed testing. The Automatic setting usually produces the most accurate test results in the shortest amount of time. If you turn speed testing off you can always annually direct the Ranger to conduct a test using the button on the bottom of the Main Tab of the control panel.
