Effective WiFi range depends on the terrain between transmitter and receiver, the weather, and numerous other factors. Objects in the line of sight, other radio transmitters in the area and even the season of the year (are there leaves on the trees?) can all impact the usable range in a particular situation. This makes it difficult to put an exact number on the range you will obtain. 2,500 ft (~1/2 mile) is approximately the maximum range you should expect to achieve with the Sky while up to 2 mies is the maximum achieved with the Elite. However, it is impossible to predict in advance the actual range in any particular situation. The max ranges are based on optimal conditions and do not reflect the usual range of a connection.
